A Yowl at Mr. Sloop Comes to Bangkok

In February 2024, the Foundation presented A Yowl at Mr. Sloop at the Alliance Française of Bangkok, in collaboration with Le Théâtre des Invités. Directed and performed by Agnès Seelinger, assisted by Laurence Neveu, the piece held its audience with a mix of absurdity, tension and precision.

A tiger in the hallway

A childless couple argue without pause, until a tiger appears in their hallway. Their chaotic daily life tips into biting comedy, recounted through the testimony of Alexine, their maid, before an imaginary court. The role demands rapid shifts between more than a dozen characters, held together by a single performer.

An entirely volunteer production

Le Théâtre des Invités took on the sets, the logistics and the workshops, all on a voluntary basis. Bernard Mazéas granted the rights for the production. The Alliance Française of Bangkok handled the venue and the ticketing.

Proceeds shared, purpose kept

Box office receipts were split between the Alliance Française and the Foundation, in keeping with our commitment to projects where artistic ambition and solidarity are not separate concerns.
