The play « Chers Parents », presented by the Seelinger Arts Foundation, was a resounding success. Over 700 spectators attended the performances held at the French International School of Tseung Kwan O, Hong Kong. Beyond the theatrical emotion, the goal was clear: to support the association Pour un Sourire d’Enfant (PSE). Mission accomplished, as €18,600 was donated to PSE, a sum that will be used to renovate the roofs of the association’s buildings in Cambodia.
A round of thanks to those who made it possible
During the final performance, Agnès Seelinger, founder of the Seelinger Arts Foundation and director of the play, took the opportunity to thank everyone who contributed to this success. Sponsors played a crucial role in supporting this second edition. Among them were:
JCDecaux, a key partner since the first edition,
The French Consulate, whose support gave greater visibility to the project,
The French International School (LFI), which made its auditorium available to welcome spectators.
The efforts of the technical team were also praised. Karine Zanini managed the subtitles, Vincent Wong excelled in stage management, and Eddy, a new addition to the team, was warmly welcomed. The production of the show was orchestrated by Sonia Peloux and Catherine Boulet-Gercourt, with the assistance of Thomas Flamend, assistant director.
Finally, a heartfelt tribute was paid to the actors who brought this family comedy, written by Armelle and Emmanuel Patron, to life. Charlotte Grayson, Bertrand Leduby, Gaëlle Neau, JB Peloux, and Paul Milon successfully portrayed the complexity of family relationships with emotion, accuracy, and humor. The audience showed their appreciation with long rounds of applause.
A family, universal emotions
« Chers Parents » is more than just a play. It explores the complexity of family relationships and the unconditional love that binds parents and children. Armelle Patron, present at the performance, was honored by Agnès Seelinger and invited on stage. This moment added an extra dimension to the event, bringing the work closer to its audience.
« This unit that is both sensitive, generous, and searing », declared Agnès Seelinger, referring to the family at the heart of the play. This universal theme resonated deeply with the audience.
A musical finale to close the adventure
To conclude this beautiful adventure, the audience was invited to stay and congratulate the actors. In a festive atmosphere, the curtain fell to the sound of music. « It’s good for morale », declared Agnès Seelinger before handing it over to Vincent Wong to launch the music. It was a moment of lightness and shared joy, perfectly reflecting the spirit of the play.
A strong commitment in support of PSE
What sets « Chers Parents » apart from many other theatrical productions is its solidarity goal. All proceeds from the play were donated to PSE (Pour un Sourire d’Enfant). Thanks to the €18,600 raised, the association will be able to fund the renovation of the roofs of its buildings in Cambodia, thereby providing better living conditions for the children it supports.
The Seelinger Arts Foundation warmly thanks all the spectators, sponsors, technicians, and actors who made this project possible. 700 spectators, €18,600 donated, laughter, tears, and unforgettable memories. This is the magic of theater in the service of solidarity.
